Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. On October 21, 2016, she released Pho which was her first EP released on the Dreamville Records label. The album was released when she began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on in May 7th, 2019. Ari Lennox released her debut tracks online in 2012. Her first album was the single Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. Ari Lennox continued to upload her music on the internet in 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. In the year 2015, she was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album in the song Sweat it out on 21st July. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's reference. Then, later in the year, her music was circulating throughout Dreamville. On December 8th that she had signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she recorded along with Cozz for her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. On the 21st of October in 2016, she released her debut EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she was featured as a guest on two songs with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas' Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th July of this year. The debut single, called Whipped Cream From the album hit stores on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a an accompanying music video. The second single she released was for Grampa on November 9. In November 13, she came out with two additional singles, the No One or Pedigree. She appeared with Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On the 16th of November, and made the track available as a single by herself for her first album. It was released with the music video which debuted on February 20 2019 and reached 3 million views on YouTube in the first week. In December 2018 she was an opening act for the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
